What is...Animal and Food Sciences?
Undergraduate Programs

Animal Science
- Pre-Veterinary Medicine
- Animal Biotechnology
- Applied Animal Science
- General Animal Science

Animal Science studies domesticated animals and their anatomy, physiology, nutrition, diseases, genetics, reproduction, and management. Each concentration has been created to help best prepare you for certain careers or post-graduate education. In all areas, hands-on work with animals is an integral part of the curriculum.

Food Science & Technology
- Food Science
- Food Technology

A walk through the grocery store is a great illustration of food science and technology. Each of the thousands of food products we consume is likely the work of a food scientist, who created the flavors, the colors, the texture and the package of your favorite snack. Using physics, chemistry, biology, and math, food scientists design new foods, engineer new systems to process food, and create better ways to package and store our food supply.
