This training is required for all persons working in labs with biological materials.

Bloodborne:

This training is required for persons covered by OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen standard. It requires initial training prior to exposure and annually thereafter.

Chemical Hygiene:
This training is required for all persons working in labs. Initial training is required prior to exposure and annually thereafter.
Chemical Waste Management

This training should be provided annually to all generators of hazardous waste.

Confined Space:

Persons entering or attending a confined space entry must be trained prior to participation.

CPR:

• CPR Training
Those persons trained in CPR through AHA are certified for a two year period. Recertification is recommended.
First Aid:
Those persons required to be certified in First Aid should check with the agency providing certification for recertification frequency requirements.
Laboratory Instructor Training
This training is highly recommended for all laboratory instructors prior to teaching laboratory classes.
Laser Safety:
This Training is offered to all workers prior to the use of laser equipment.
New Employee Orientation:

This introduction to safety is required for all new employees and is corordinated through Employee Services for all new members of the campus community to introduce them to the University safety program.

This introduction to safety is required for all new graduate students and is available to all new members of the campus community to introduce them to the University safety program.

Safety Program Orientation

Radiation:

This covers users of radiation producing machines and/or radioactive materials. Initial training is required prior to use and annually thereafter.

Respirator:

This training is required for all persons wearing respiratory protection. The training is done initially accompanied by respirator fit testing. Refresher training should be performed annually.

Right-to-Know:

Right-to-Know Training Slides

Initial training is required prior to exposure to hazardous materials and annually thereafter. Right-to-know training should extend to all hazards including physical, biological, electrical, noise, etc.

Animal Facilty Safety Training Presented by Krista Murray

All University employees and students working with laboratory animals are required to have annual training in general safety information and species-specific safety. Access to the facility is denied prior to receiving the training. Students may be instructed by their supervisor or instructor.
