Spring 2010 March 10, 2010 PLANT AND SOIL SCIENCES SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Attendees: Jerry Hendricks, Rodney Dempsey, , Vidhya Raman, Randy Wisser, Kathleen Turner and Kevin Eichenger The meeting was called to order at 11:10 am Old Business: All members were asked to followup on the lab inspections they conducted in the fall and to report on the staus of any outstanding deficiencies. Kevin presented a revised inspection form that is siimplified, has Category 1 deficiencies bolded, returns to a S - UNS - N/A rating format and expands and clarifies some explanations. New Business: Building inspections were assigned: Summer lab inspections will be conducted by EHS personnel in August. Fire drills will be scheduled for early June. The Sustainability Task Force is soliciting grant propsals and handheld electronic inspection devices were suggested for consideration. The coninuing problem of confusing waste streams was discussed. It was agreed that EHS will scedule a trraining seminar for the college. Kevin discussed an accident report concerning a table saw and the search for a Director of EHS. Meeting adjourned at 11:40 p.m. |
