Freshman Information


DelaWorld 101

DelaWorld 101 is the freshman orientation program. This includes the summer portion of orientation during which you learn valuable information about campus life, housing, financial aid, and much more. You acquire your student ID, learn how to use the student computer information system (UDSIS), and register for your fall semester courses.

The Fall portion of orientation includes meeting your faculty advisor, attending Convocation, and taking part in a variety of fun activities sponsored by various campus organizations.

Freshman Seminars

The majority of students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will take a freshman seminar course designed to ease the transition to college. Students will learn about various campus resources, learn study skills and academic self-management skills, and have a chance to meet other students and faculty.

AGRI 165: Mastering the Freshman Year
For freshmen majoring in agricultural & technology education, food and agribusiness management, natural resource management and agriculture & natural resources.

ANSC 165: Freshman First Year Experience

For freshmen majoring in animal and food sciences.

ENWC 165: New Student Seminar
For freshmen majoring in entomology, wildlife conservation, and plant protection*.

PLSC 171: New Student Colloquium
For freshmen majoring in plant science, landscape horticulture, environmental soil science, and plant protection*.

*Students majoring in plant protection have the choice between ENWC 165 and PLSC 171 because the major is cross-listed between the 2 departments.
