Brain Healthy Lifestyle: Feed Your Spirit

The University of Delaware Cooperative Extension along with its partners invite the public to attend Brain Healthy Lifestyle: Feed Your Spirit program on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 1-5 p.m. at the Cordrey Center in Millsboro. The event is free, but pre-registration is required in order to plan for refreshments. The brain is the largest organ in our body, and exercising and keeping it fit is crucial to the quality of human life. Young, old, or in between, it is never too late to challenge our brain and allow it to work for us at peak capacity.

Practicing a Healthy Brain Lifestyle not only enhances your overall health by promoting exercise and nutrition, it asks your brain to work in new ways helps to prevent diseases that can manifest in our more mature years.

Researchers are discovering new pathways of prevention and unlocking the mysteries behind this fascinating control center of the human body.The stimulating program will feature topics on technology, health and nutrition, gardening and developing healthy hobbies. Featured speakers include Brent Marsh, Attracting Song Birds & Other Wildlife using Native Plants, and Dr. Kim Furtado, Effects of Stress on Memory and Stan Raskin, Laughter...Rx for a Healthy Brain.

Joining Delaware Cooperative Extension as partners are Delaware Technical Community College, the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Sussex (RSVP).
