I want to work in the agriculture industry, but right now I am torn between different facets of this business. I think I would like to work in marketing, and am very interested in the growing industry of agritourism, especially locally.
I have wanted to attend Delaware for as long as I can remember. I love the College of Ag at Delaware. It feels like I am attending a small school, with all of the benefits of a big school. When I came on a visit, I met some of the professors I might get to work with, and I was excited to see that they were really interested in getting to know me. Several of the professors I had last year still say hello to me when they see me.
The Food and Agribusiness Management program is very diverse, which is another reason I chose this school from my other options. The classes offered are very unique. I'm not stuck just taking business classes, but ones that are specifically tailored to the food and agriculture industry, such as Food Marketing and Agriculture Economics.
One of the best things about my freshman year was Mastering the Freshman Year. In this class, I not only learned what the College of Agriculture has to offer, but what services and programs are offered by the University of Delaware . Since my class was comprised mainly of students within my department, I also got to meet some of the faces that I would later see in my classes. The information I learned in this class proved to be invaluable as I have made my way through the University of Delaware campus.
