Part III.
Plant Selection (30 points). A
customer comes into your garden center and asks you to lay out a 5' x 12'
perennial garden for a sunny spot. The customer wants to maximize the ornamental
display, starting in early April and continuing through late October. There must
be at least one plant in flower throughout this period.
The plant in the back of the garden (northeast corner) should be at least
6’ tall to cover an electric meter on the side of the garage that serves as a
back-drop for the garden. The first
4’ of the west end of the garden is wet due to a down spout.
Additionally, there must be at least one evergreen species for some
winter interest. The primary summer
flower color must be yellow, while the fall garden should feature primarily
blue/purple flowers. Please list
ten plants, numbers 1-4 are plants in the front third of the garden (short), 5-7
are in the middle (intermediate) and 8-10 are in the back of the garden (tall)
to fulfill the requirements of this garden.
