Student Curriculum Presentations
Students of Our Environment begins with the premise that we must all reconnect with nature. Excepts from Last Child in the Woods, by Richard Louv stimulate discussion about 'nature deficit disorder' and students are charged with developing creative solutions to this problem. After experiencing a research project of their own by collecting data on species diversity in five different sites; including a wetland, meadow, forest, agricultural field and suburban landscape, UD students develop lesson plans designed to engage elementary and middle school students in the outdoor world. Supporting materials and resources are developed to accompany lesson plans. Students present their curricula at the end of the semester. All developed materials and the presentation video can be found on this website.
