LGP Seminars

The LGP Class of 2012 will be presenting their thesis research seminars on Friday, May 25 from 9 AM – Noon (Eastern Daylight Savings Time) in Longwood's Ballroom. Please see the Abstract.pdf  
These seminars will once again be free, open to anyone, and live webcast. NO RSVP is necessary. Since the Ballroom is within Longwood’s grounds, please enter through the Visitor Center and inform our staff at a designated reception table that you're there to attend the Seminars. A light lunch will be available at the end of the seminars. These will also be live webcast. here is the web address for those wishing to watch the research seminars online: click here. Webcast attendees' computers must meet the following requirements:
• Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124 or higher (Test your Flash version at here)
• High-speed broadband internet connection
• Internet Explorer 7 or 8, Firefox 2 or higher, Chrome, or Safari 3 or higher

Attendees will listen to the event via the computer speakers (or headphones). Audio will be one-way and there will be no written chat. We will record the event, which can be viewed later. We'll provide details later this summer.

Welcome to the Longwood Graduate Program Web site. Thinking about a career in public garden leadership? You’re looking in the right place. Envisioning the chance to direct a public horticulture institution like a botanic garden or arboretum? Read on. Do you live the world of public horticulture already but feel like you’ve hit a glass ceiling for advancement? Well, this graduate degree may be just the right strategy to improve your professional mobility. The Longwood Graduate Program advocates and integrates experiential learning throughout its framework. Students take graduate courses from amongst the wide offerings of the University of Delaware, they are welcomed as volunteers throughout the region’s own fabric of institutions, they can work closely within the many aspects of Longwood Gardens, and they participate in projects that hone their professional skills and establish important professional networks. Since 1967, many graduates have gone on to upper management and directorial positions at some of the best public horticulture institutions in the country.
