
Jon Pixler was born and raised in The Woodlands, Texas. This May he received his bachelor's degree in Horticulture Science from Texas A&M. For the last three years he has been working at the Texas A&M Holistic Garden as a student worker. Before attending Texas A&M, he owned a landscaping and lawn maintenance service. He has also completed an internship at Cockrell Butterfly Center at the Museum of Natural Science in downtown Houston.
His true love is collecting plants, mostly rare and unusual ones, which he has been collecting since he was 15 years old. His other interests in horticulture include organic gardening, ethno-botany, plant exploration and anything tropical. His other hobbies are backpacking, camping, music, disc golf, and art. After he graduates from the program he plans to work as a curator of horticulture in a tropical conservatory or garden.
