Jackie Bergquist

Jackie Bergquist is delighted at the opportunity to participate in the Longwood Graudate Program. Originally from northern California, she attained her B.S. degree from UC Davis in Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry in 2005. During her studies, she specialized in Landscape/Turf Management and Nursery Production/Floriculture. Interested in public gardens, she became involved in college internship programs at the Holden Arboretum, the UC Davis Arboretum, and at Longwood Gardens. These internships fostered her growing love of horticulture, and influenced her to keep learning as much as possible about public gardens!

Jackie’s interests of study are ultimately based in people-plant interactions and communication. During the Longwood Graduate Program Jackie looks forward to learning not only from her classes and project work, but through observational exposure and volunteer experience at public gardens throughout the region. She is also interested in learning more about East Coast culture, in general, and hopes to have enough time to do some weekend travel.
