4-H Record Book General Guidelines

Record Book Do’s

  • Write neatly or type. Neatness counts.
  • Use ink, not pencil. It’s O.K. to type on a computer.
  • Include photographs of projects and activities.
  • Caption all pictures.
  • Put project pictures after Project Information forms.
  • Put all non-project pictures after Delaware Record Book form.
  • Place all forms in a three-ring loose-leaf binder.
  • Number all pages.
  • Sign your book.
  • Have a parent/guardian sign your book.
  • Hand your book to your leader for signature.
  • Record Book Don’ts

  • Do not use pencil.
  • Don’t put ribbons, awards, letters, articles or certificates in your record book. Rather, list these items under “awards and recognition.”
  • Do not overlap photographs.
  • Do not put photographs on the back of pages, except for the last page of the project book.
