What do the Kids have to Say?

 

Question: What did you do today and how did you help the agency involved?

“Today I went to Bellevue State Park and I picked up trash! It was so hot outside, but I had fun. Then I went to the Senior Center and played Bingo with the people there”.

“Today I went to Ashland Nature Center and picked plants out of trees, we also hiked a little. Then I went to Woodside Farms and ate ice cream and ate lunch. Then I went to a church and we helped weed in the garden.”

“Today I went to the Kalmar Nyckle Ship Yard. There was a cute cat there. We dusted, swept, weeded and cleaned rust off tools. Then we played in the hose and came back”.

“Today I helped the church by picking their weeds and making the church look nicer. They said it takes 20 janitors to do all the weeding we did!”

Question: What was your favorite community service activity?

“ My favorite service project in the camp was going to the Food Bank and filling bags with noodles. I also loved going to the Pool afterwards”.

“My favorite activity was going to the nursing home and singing happy birthday for the 90 year old lady”

Question: What did you learn or experience while helping?

“I learned about Agriculture at the Dover Ag Museum.”

“In the month of August when the camp is over, I will start to recycle”

“I learned that weeds are mean”

“I learned that seniors take Bingo Seriously”

“I learned that weeds called “A Mile a Minute” are called that because it grows fast”.

“I learned it is important to keep the environment clean”.
