Mission Statement
The Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology has as its mission “to conduct basic and applied research in entomological and wildlife conservation issues that addresses society’s problems, improves management practices that are compatible with environmental stewardship, and advances biological knowledge; to educate undergraduate and graduate students to become professionals and citizens capable of solving problems and disseminating information; and to assist the public in matters related to insects, wildlife and other forms of biodiversity."
Learning Goals
- Students will be able to synthesize research information from the wildlife and/or entomological literature and make appropriate inferences and deductions.
- Students will be able to communicate knowledge about wildlife conservation and/or entomology accurately and effectively with others, both orally and in writing.
- Students will have gained sufficient knowledge of wildlife conservation and/or entomology to solve real-world problems and address relevant local and global issues.
