Economic importance: Limited. 

Host plants: Members of this genus feed on rushes:  Juncus effusus (Conomelus anceps, C. odryssius), J. inflexus (C. anceps, C. odryssius. C. sagittifer), J. articulatus (C. anceps) (host information from Wilson et al. 1995, Holzinger et al. 2003).
