Official Dean Search
The University of Delaware invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The College seeks an innovative and entrepreneurial leader who will promote excellence in teaching, research, and extension.
Review of applications will begin on February 15, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled. The proposed start date of the successful candidate is July 1, 2012.
Timeline:

| March 1-15 | Committee conducts first round interviews |
| Early April | Finalists visit campus |
| Mid-Late April | The interviews will be held |
| Late April | Committee provides its assessment of the finalists in a meeting with UD Provost Tom Apple |
The Search Committee announces three finalists, who will be visiting Delaware in April. On the first day of each visit at 4 pm in the Townsend Commons candidates will be presenting their vision for the College, followed by a Q&A session, then a reception.
The schedule is as follows:
- April 17-18: Edward Ashworth, Dean of Natural Sciences, Forestry & Agriculture, University of Maine
- April 23-24: Mark Rieger, Associate Dean, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Florida
- April 25-26: Cameron Hackney, Special Assistant to the Provost, West Virginia University
The Dean is appointed by the Provost and the President of the University.
