Installation Cost and Economic Incentives
Costs to install a PV system are expected to range from $6,000 to $10,000 per kW depending on civil works, code requirements, transportation costs, and site conditions. This seems expensive, but new economic incentives have made solar power worth considering. Incentives that were used to fund the UD Poultry PV project include the Delaware Green Energy Fund, the Federal Investment Tax Credit (30%) in the Federal Energy Policy Act, renewable energy credits (RECs), and savings on energy payments.
