New faculty member joins the Department of Animal & Food Sciences

Hong Li Headshot Addressing Rising Energy Costs in Poultry Production

Dr. Hong Li joins University of Delaware from Iowa State University, where he served as associate scientist and adjunct assistant professor at the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.  His research interests include animal environmental control, mea­surement and mitigation of aerial emissions related to animal feeding operations, and assessments of impacts of environmental and management factors on production performance, behavior, and welfare of animals. Dr. Li is currently looking for undergraduate and master’s students to join his group in air emission studies with broilers.

Dr. Li earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Structures and Environmental Systems Engineering from Iowa State University in 2006, and his bachelor's and master's degrees in Agricultural Biosystems Engineering from China Agricultural University in Beijing, China.
