NCC Master Gardener Training to start March 7

You can change the world one gardener at a time by becoming a New Castle County Master Gardener volunteer. University of Delaware horticulture experts and gardening educators will help you expand your skills and your love of the natural world, and show you ways to make a positive contribution in your community.

Classes for those chosen to become Master Gardeners will be Tuesday and Thursday mornings from March 7 to May 25, at the Cooperative Extension office at 910 S. Chapel Street (Route 72) in Newark. Application deadline is Feb. 1, and the training fee is $100. Scholarships are available. After graduation, Master Gardeners will be required to complete 40 volunteer hours and 5 hours of advanced training. Most stay on to give back far more time to community garden education.

Earn the right to be called Master Gardener. Sign up today for the next Master Gardener training session. A greener world is counting on you. Application forms available at: http://ag.udel.edu/ncc/mg/apply.html .
